Discuss ability, terrain and dates with Ask FASS, using published resort facts, short forecasts and available historical snow evidence with their limits.
Quick answer
Tell the assistant your dates, activity, ability and preferred country or resort. It can shortlist resorts, read short Open-Meteo forecasts and check a selected resort's travel month across three completed past years when archive data is available. These sources cannot guarantee future snow, open pistes or safe terrain.
Tell Ask FASS your travel dates, activity, ability, lesson needs and preferred location. It can help shortlist resorts using the published suitability and altitude information and available weather data.
FASS uses Open-Meteo for modelled weather and snow estimates. The available forecast covers six days, including today; it cannot predict the snow on a trip months away. A snow-depth estimate is not a live piste inspection, and a refreshed panel does not prove every underlying reading is recent.
Name a resort and the month you are considering, for example: What historical snow evidence is available for this resort in January? The assistant first resolves an actual public resort, then can read the same month across the three completed calendar years before the current year. It offers the real resort page; it does not open it until you accept.
The historical tool uses the Open-Meteo archive, not the short forecast. It reports the years, UTC periods, retrieval time, available hourly coverage and provider-reported elevation. Snow-depth summaries use the final reading of each fully covered day; monthly snowfall totals are shown only if every hourly reading is present. Missing readings are unknown, not zero snow. Partial or unavailable archive data is described as such, including when the archive cannot be read with the current subscription.
The figures are modelled historical estimates at a sampled point. Its elevation does not verify conditions on beginner slopes or at the summit. Different sampled coordinates or elevations must not be treated as directly comparable terrain. Three past years are not a long-term climate normal or a prediction for your travel dates. The assistant cannot infer future snow reliability, snowmaking, open pistes or avalanche safety from them. Historical snow reads are unavailable in isolated fictional demos.
For a later trip, consider the published terrain and altitude information alongside this limited history, then check current conditions closer to departure. Higher altitude alone does not guarantee snow or a suitable beginner area.
Open the resort details and Compare Weather for the available dates and retrieval times. Confirm official lift and piste openings, avalanche information, lesson meeting points and the school's advice. Weather, wind, visibility and access can affect lessons even where snow is present.
The assistant cannot guarantee snow, safe terrain, an open lift or a confirmed lesson. The provider decides whether a lesson can run and applies its own cancellation terms. For conditions requiring a safety decision, use the resort and qualified local professionals rather than an AI reply.
