How do I use the AI Resort Finder?

The AI Resort Finder is a mode on the Resorts Directory. Open /resorts and tap Try AI Search — describe what you're looking for — or go straight to /resorts?ai=open.

Describe the resort you want

Tell the AI what you're planning in plain language. Useful things to include:

• Who's skiing (family with young children, a group of intermediate friends, a solo advanced skier)
• The kind of terrain you want (beginner-friendly, lots of reds and blacks, good off-piste, big linked area)
• Practical considerations (high altitude for snow-sure late season, short transfer from an airport, good après-ski)
• Region or country if you have one in mind

The AI handles rough and narrative queries as well as specific ones — "best resorts for beginners in Austria with good English-speaking schools" works fine.

Voice input is supported — tap the microphone icon next to the input if you'd rather speak than type.

Quick filter chips

Above the AI panel you'll see a row of chips. These are shortcuts to the most-searched queries:

• Trending searches — queries other skiers have run most often this week, shown at the front of the row as trending chips.
• Curated quick filters — common queries like "Best for beginners", "Deep powder", "Family-friendly".
• Recent searches — your own recent queries are stored locally so you can jump back to them.

Tap any chip to run that search instantly.

How the results work

The AI applies resort-level filters for you — country, altitude, slope kilometres, snow depth, ability-level ratings, family-friendliness, off-piste rating, après-ski rating — and returns a shortlist of resorts that fit. A summary line shows which filters the AI applied.

If your query is ambiguous — say, "somewhere nice for our first ski trip" without a region — the AI may ask a follow-up question to narrow things down. Answer it and the search runs again.

From a resort to your lesson

Every resort in the results links to the schools and instructors teaching there, so once you've picked your mountain, finding your lesson is the next tap. For trip planning, pair the Resort Finder with the Resort Map [blocked] to see shortlisted resorts geographically.
