Online card payments use Stripe Checkout. Find a Ski School creates the charge, and Stripe Connect transfers the provider's share to its connected account after the stated commission.
Quick answer
Find a Ski School creates the online Stripe charge. Stripe Connect transfers the provider's share to its connected account after our commission. We do not operate a wallet or escrow service, and learners pay no FASS booking fee.
When you pay online, Find a Ski School creates the charge through Stripe Checkout on its platform account. For an onboarded provider, Stripe Connect uses a destination charge: it transfers the provider's share to the provider's connected account and returns Find a Ski School's stated commission to the platform as an application fee.
Find a Ski School does not operate a stored-value wallet or escrow service. It does, however, operate the Stripe charge and refund flow. The ski school or instructor remains the lesson provider and the party to your booking contract.
Under the current destination-charge setup, Stripe deducts its processing fee from Find a Ski School's platform account. It is not added to your total and is not separately deducted from the provider transfer. The provider receives the amount processed less the stated Find a Ski School commission.
If your card is declined, the booking isn't created — try again, use a different card, or contact your bank if the issue persists. Nothing is charged until the booking is created successfully.
If the payment went through but something looks wrong (for example, a duplicate or wrong amount), contact Find a Ski School support and the provider with your booking reference. The provider can see the booking, while Find a Ski School can trace the platform charge and refund status in Stripe.
Schools set their prices in their local currency. When you pay, your card issuer converts it to your card's currency at their exchange rate. The booking confirmation email shows the exact amount in the school's currency.
No booking fees for skiers and learners, ever.
