# How do I customise and export performance reports?

The performance report turns your booking history into a full picture — revenue and booking trends, completion and cancellation rates, instructor performance, platform benchmarks, and year-over-year seasonal comparison. Pick a 1, 3, 6, or 12 month window, set goals against four key metrics, and download the lot as CSV. Year in Review adds a shareable annual summary with PDF download.

## Quick answer

Open Grow → Performance, choose a reporting window of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months, and tap Download CSV to export the metrics. For an annual, shareable version, Grow → Year in review offers a PDF download and a public share link.

## How do I customise and export performance reports?

The performance report is the deep-dive version of your school's numbers — where the analytics dashboard gives you a glance, the report gives you the full season's story, with benchmarks and goals attached. This article covers what's in it, how to shape it, and how to get it out of the platform.

Performance reports require a paid plan (Independent Instructor, School, or Multi-School); Starter schools see the basic dashboard only.

## Open the report

1. From your dashboard, open the **Grow** section
2. Tap **Performance**

The report builds from your live booking data each time you open it — there's nothing to generate or wait for.

## Choose the reporting period

A dropdown at the top offers **Last 1 Month**, **Last 3 Months**, **Last 6 Months**, or **Last 12 Months**, with six months as the default. That's the extent of date customisation — there's no arbitrary from–to picker on this report. If you need an exact date range, export the raw data instead (see below).

## What's in the report

Sections appear automatically when there's data behind them:

- **Headline cards** — total bookings, total revenue, completion rate, cancellation rate, average and median response time, total and repeat clients, repeat client rate, and refund requests, with colour-coding where a number needs attention
- **Trend charts** — monthly revenue and booking volume, with completed and cancelled bookings broken out
- **Booking sources** — where bookings come from (online widget, walk-in, phone, email, or other) and which days of the week are busiest
- **Instructor performance** — a per-instructor table of bookings, completions, cancellations, completion rate, and revenue
- **Cancellation reasons** — your most common reasons, ranked
- **Lesson type breakdown** — private versus group, with counts and revenue share

There are no show/hide toggles for sections — the report is opinionated about what a school owner should see, and an empty section simply doesn't render.

## Set goals inside the report

The goals section lets you set monthly targets against four metrics: bookings, revenue, completion rate, and repeat client rate.

1. Tap **Set Goal** next to a metric
2. Enter the target — progress bars then show current versus target whenever you open the report
3. Use **Edit** or **Remove** to adjust as the season develops

Goals are a private management tool; students and instructors never see them.

## Benchmarks and seasonal trends

Two sections put your numbers in context:

- **Platform benchmarks** compare your school against the platform average for bookings, completion rate, cancellation rate, average booking value, response time, and repeat client rate — useful for separating "our quiet March" from "everyone's quiet March"
- **Seasonal trends** compare this season against last, year over year: growth percentages for bookings, revenue, completed lessons, and unique clients, with an overlay chart and a season totals table. A year selector lets you look further back

If a benchmark suggests a pricing problem rather than a demand one, that's a good moment to consider [a pricing A/B test](https://findaskischool.com/help/school-pricing-and-revenue/how-do-i-run-pricing-ab-tests).

## Export the report as CSV

Tap **Download CSV** at the top of the report. The file — named after your school, ending `-performance-report.csv` — contains the computed metrics for your chosen period, ready for a spreadsheet or your accountant.

That's the only export format on this report: there's no PDF and no scheduled email version. We'd rather be upfront about that than let you hunt for a button that isn't there.

## Need raw data instead?

The performance report exports computed metrics — rates, totals, and trends. If you want the underlying rows (one line per booking or lesson), use **Lessons → Reports & export**, which has a proper from–to date filter and is available on every plan. The two exports complement each other: metrics for review meetings, raw rows for reconciliation.

## Share your Year in Review

For an annual summary designed to be shown to other people — your team, your committee, or your social channels — open **Grow → Year in review**:

1. Pick a year from the selector (the current year and several back)
2. Review the summary: bookings, revenue, students, average rating, best month, busiest day, monthly trend, and year-over-year growth
3. Download it as a PDF, named after your school and the year
4. Or tap **Create Share Link** — this generates a public link anyone can open without logging in, copies it to your clipboard, and tracks how many times it's been viewed

You can copy the link again at any time, or tap **Deactivate** to switch off public access. There's no built-in email sending — paste the link wherever you want it seen.

## How this differs from the analytics dashboard

- **Analytics** (**Grow → Analytics**) is the at-a-glance view — headline totals, recent trends, and a last-30-days summary
- **Performance** is the working document — configurable period, goals, benchmarks, instructor detail, and CSV export
- **Year in review** is the presentation piece — one year, shareable, with a PDF
