How do I change my instructor profile photo?

Open Account → My profile in your instructor dashboard, check the selected profile, and use Profile photo. Frame the portrait and card square before selecting Save photo. A school-specific photo is managed separately in My schools.

Quick answer

Open /instructor-dashboard/profile → Profile photo. Confirm image rights, choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MB, adjust both frames, and select Save photo.

How do I change my instructor profile photo?

Open My profile under Account in your instructor dashboard and check the selected instructor profile. Use Profile photo, expanding it if you previously closed the section. This changes your instructor portrait; your learner account photo is a separate image.

  1. Confirm that you have permission to use the image, including permission from people pictured where required.
  2. Choose or drop one JPEG, PNG or WebP image up to 5 MB. A clear portrait works best.
  3. In Frame your photo, adjust Profile portrait and Card square. Drag or use the arrow keys to position the image, and adjust Zoom.
  4. Use Use a different photo if the card square should come from a second image. Use the same photo returns it to the portrait's source image.
  5. Confirm the image-rights acknowledgement in the dialog and select Save photo. Wait for the upload confirmation before leaving.

The photo upload saves separately from the other profile fields; Save Profile saves those other edits. Cancelling the framing dialog leaves the existing saved photo in place.

Profile photo or school photo?

The portrait and square are different crops for your profile and cards. A school-specific photo is a separate override: use My schools to upload that school's photo or Use default to restore your profile photo there. Changing the default does not remove an existing school override.

Lesson-card images are separate again. Use Lesson images for photographs of you teaching individual lessons; see lesson-image help.

If an older photo looks soft, upload the original again. Enlarging an old small image cannot restore detail that is missing from it.

If you cannot change the photo

Check the selected profile, the image-rights acknowledgement, the file format, and the 5 MB limit. If the framing dialog is still open, the new photo has not saved yet: select Save photo and wait for the upload confirmation. If an error appears, keep its wording for support. Do not share passwords, recovery codes, or the image itself in an assistant conversation.

You need access to your own instructor profile. A school membership or a learner account alone does not give permission to edit another instructor's portrait. If your instructor workspace is missing or the upload continues to fail, contact support, describe what you tried, and include the error message without account secrets.

If the support form offers Show me how, it can open the supported profile page and point out the photo controls. You choose the image, confirm its rights, frame it, and save it yourself. Opening or highlighting the controls does not mean the upload succeeded. Keep your support request open until you have checked the result; Continue with support remains available if the steps do not help.
