Quick answer

Open /instructor-dashboard for Today, My bookings, My schedule, Availability, and Messages. Your linked instructor profile and school permissions determine which tools are available.

What is the instructor dashboard?

The instructor dashboard [blocked] is your workspace for teaching. Today is the starting point; use My bookings for lesson actions and Messages for conversations with students, parents, and schools.

Get access and finish setup

Use your existing FASS account to accept the school's instructor invitation or complete the independent-instructor setup. Choosing an account purpose alone does not assign you to a school. If no instructor profile is linked, ask the school to send or correct its invitation.

Follow the setup checklist for your profile, weekly availability, and qualifications or verification. Instructors are guided to set up an authenticator app; keep the recovery codes somewhere safe. Account → Security lets you manage account security afterwards.

Find your daily work

  • Today — the day's lessons, tomorrow's preview, and recent activity where available.
  • My bookings — booking filters, assignment responses, lesson outcomes, notes, and progress reports.
  • My schedule — calendar view of assigned work and busy periods.
  • Availability — weekly pattern, dated overrides, time off, and requests.
  • Messages — your client conversations, including parent threads.
  • Lessons — group roster, lesson plans, and equipment checks where enabled.
  • Account — profile, My schools, qualifications, verification, notifications, and security.

Some tools appear only after their setup or activity requirements are met. GPS tracking and accident reports are currently unavailable; an older guide or screenshot may show them.

Teaching and running a business

A school owner who teaches can use both the school and instructor workspaces with one account. The school dashboard manages the business; the instructor dashboard manages the selected teaching profile. Use the profile selector when you hold more than one instructor profile.

Your My schools page manages school affiliations. School office staff can work with school permissions without creating an instructor profile. Only create a teaching profile for someone who teaches.

Changing a lesson assignment and confirming a student's booking are separate actions. Check any assignment response requested in My bookings before assuming you are covering the lesson.
