How do I link my existing booking system?

If your school already runs Regiondo, FareHarbor, Peek, book.ski, or a custom booking flow, you can point your FASS listing's primary CTA at it instead of using the native booking flow. Independent instructors who own their own listing can set this up too. The URL is verified by AI before the CTA goes live, and you'll see a 30-day click count once it's running.

Quick answer

Schools: Dashboard → School → External booking. Independent instructors: Instructor Dashboard → Account → External Booking. Paste your booking page URL and click Save & validate. Once verified, the primary CTA on your public listing reads 'Book with {your school}'s existing booking system' and points straight at your URL — and a 30-day click count appears on the same tab.

How do I link my existing booking system?

Plenty of schools already have their own booking system — Regiondo, FareHarbor, Peek, book.ski, a Wix or Squarespace page, a custom build. If that's you, you don't have to migrate. Point your FASS listing's primary CTA at your booking page and we'll send leads straight there.

This works for ski schools and for independent instructors who own their own listing — same flow, same editor, mounted in whichever dashboard you use day to day.

The link is free during the rollout phase. Set it up once, leave it.

Setting up the link

  1. Open the External booking tab in your dashboard.
    • Ski schools: Dashboard → School → External booking.
    • Independent instructors: Instructor Dashboard → Account → External Booking. (You only see this tab if you registered through the independent-instructor flow and own your own listing — employee instructors at a multi-instructor school can't override the school's link from their own dashboard.)
  2. Paste the URL customers should land on when they want to book — a deep link to your real booking page, not your homepage.
  3. Click Save & validate.

We do two things on save: we fetch the page, and we ask an AI to confirm it's actually a booking page for your school. The AI checks the school name, the resort, the country, and the page content. The result lands in one of four states:

  • Verified — your CTA goes live on your public listing immediately.
  • Pending review — the AI couldn't decide. The FASS team picks it up; review timing depends on the case.
  • Could not verify — the AI thinks it isn't a booking page for your school. The status banner explains why so you can fix the URL and try again.
  • Validating — the scrape and AI check are still running. Usually only a few seconds.

We're deliberately cautious — false positives matter more than false negatives here, because a wrongly verified URL would send real customers to the wrong place.

What customers see

Once the URL is verified, the primary booking widget on your public listing changes. Instead of the native FASS booking flow with lesson cards, your visitors see a single CTA reading "Book with {your school}'s existing booking system", which opens your URL in a new tab.

The native lesson list is hidden in this mode — you've explicitly chosen to handle bookings off-platform, so we don't show two booking flows at once.

Tracking how many people click

Once your URL is verified, the External booking tab shows a click count for the last 30 days, plus the date of the most recent click. That gives you a real signal for how much traffic FASS is sending you, and lets you compare it against the bookings that come through on your end.

A few notes:

  • The headline number counts human clicks. Crawler and link-preview hits — Googlebot, Slack unfurls, Facebook scrapers, headless browsers — are excluded so the count reflects real visitor intent.
  • If we did filter out any crawler hits, you'll see them called out separately under the headline number.
  • The count covers a rolling 30-day period; reload the analytics view to check its latest result.

What we record per click

Per click, we save:

  • The school the click was for.
  • A coarse device class — mobile, desktop, bot, or unknown.
  • A two-letter country code, if the upstream proxy provides one. Otherwise blank.
  • The timestamp.

We don't store IP addresses, full user agents, referrers, or user IDs. The click log is intentionally limited; review your own privacy information and external booking provider's data practices.

Removing or changing the link

  • Updating the URL — paste a new URL on the same tab and click Save & validate again. The old click data is preserved against your school; only the verification record is rewritten.
  • Removing the link entirely — click Remove link on the External booking tab. The native FASS booking widget reappears on your public listing. Your historical clicks remain in the analytics record but the public CTA reverts immediately.
  • A wrong-school match — if you ever land on a listing where the external booking link clearly points at the wrong place, let us know via support and we'll override it. The validator is conservative, but human eyes still beat AI judgement at the edges.

When this isn't the right fit

Skip the external booking link if:

  • You want students to compare lessons, instructors, and prices side by side in the FASS UI before booking. The off-platform CTA hides the lesson list, which is a feature for established workflows but loses the comparison surface.
  • You'd rather collect bookings, payments, and student data through FASS so you have one source of truth. In that case, the embeddable booking widget [blocked] is the closer match — same engine, your branding, your site.
  • You're still validating whether a booking system is the right shape for your school. Try the native FASS booking flow [blocked] first — it's free on the Starter tier and you can switch to an external link any time.

Common questions

Will my FASS listing still appear in search? Yes. Linking out doesn't downrank your listing or hide you from the directory. The only thing that changes is what happens when a visitor clicks Book.

Do I still get FASS reviews if bookings happen off-platform? Reviews on FASS come from FASS bookings. If the booking happens on your own system, FASS doesn't have a record of the lesson and won't prompt the student to leave a review.

Will you charge for this later? The link is free during the rollout phase. If we ever introduce a paid tier or sunset the feature, we'll give plenty of notice and you'll be able to keep the same workflow without surprises.

Why was my URL marked "could not verify" when it clearly is my booking page? The AI picks up signals from the page content — your school name, your resort, language matching what your FASS profile lists. If those don't appear on the page, the AI plays it safe. Editing the page to include your school name (or asking the FASS team to manually verify via the status banner) usually resolves it.

I'm an independent instructor and I don't see the External Booking tab. Why? Two checks. First, you need to have registered through the independent instructor flow [blocked] so you have your own listing — instructors who only have employee profiles at someone else's school can't set the link from their own dashboard. Second, the tab lives under Account in the Instructor Dashboard sidebar, not under Core or Performance. If you've registered as an independent and still don't see it, contact support and we'll look at your account state.

I converted my independent profile into a multi-instructor school. Where's the tab now? Once you upgrade to a full school listing, the External booking tab moves to the school-owner Dashboard (Dashboard → School → External booking) and disappears from the Instructor Dashboard. The link itself, the verification status, and the click history are all preserved across the conversion.
