# How do I track payroll and instructor hours?

Open Team → Payroll & hours, set hourly rates with effective dates, choose the reporting period, resolve missing-rate warnings, and export CSV for your payroll process.

## Quick answer

Open Team → Payroll & hours, set hourly rates with effective dates, choose the reporting period, resolve missing-rate warnings, and export CSV for your payroll process.

## How do I track payroll and instructor hours?

The payroll tools calculate from recorded lesson work and configured instructor rates. They do not send wages or replace your tax and employment payroll system.

## Prepare the calculation

1. Open **Team → Payroll & hours** for the correct school.
2. Set each instructor's hourly rate and lesson type, with the intended effective-from date.
3. Choose the reporting period. Dates are interpreted in the school's timezone.
4. Review instructor totals and any missing-rate warnings before exporting.

A lesson with no applicable rate can contribute zero to the money total, so a low total is not proof that nothing is owed. Check lesson assignments, durations, statuses, and rate dates against the actual work done.

## Export and report

Use **Export CSV** for the current period. **Payroll reports** offers reporting views, and **Payroll export** can schedule CSV reports to the recipients you configure. Review recipient addresses because reports contain staff and pay information.

The rate editor supports hourly rates by lesson type and effective period. Do not assume it calculates a percentage commission, a flat per-lesson fee, statutory overtime, deductions, or tax automatically.

Investigate disputed hours using the lesson records and your own employment records. Agree any correction with the instructor, then reconcile the final export in your payroll system.
