Quick answer

Pricing → Dynamic is a rule-management and preview tool. The normal booking checkout currently uses the published lesson price and does not apply this separate dynamic-pricing engine.

How does dynamic pricing work?

Open Pricing → Dynamic to manage and preview pricing rules. These rules are not currently applied by the normal lesson checkout. Saving a rule does not change the amount a learner pays through the standard booking widget.

Create and review a rule

  1. Choose Add rule and name the proposed change.
  2. Select its type and a percentage or fixed adjustment.
  3. Review priority, lesson-type and resort scope, any active dates, and price limits.
  4. Save, then use Price preview to inspect the calculation.

Rule types such as Demand and Availability are categories; they do not imply a live occupancy feed. Active matching rules stack in descending priority. Percentage changes compound, and a rule that would cross its configured floor or ceiling can be skipped rather than clamped.

The preview engine checks active date windows against the current calculation time, not simply the lesson date entered. Check the complete result instead of assuming a rule named “Christmas” automatically reprices Christmas lessons booked months earlier.

Seasonal templates and recommendations

Pricing → Seasonal can create dated rules from a template. Recommendations proposes changes from available booking history. Applying a recommendation creates a rule; it does not validate the business decision or turn on checkout integration.

Change a live lesson price

Use the lesson's published pricing controls in the Lessons hub, then verify the quoted total in the customer booking flow. Preserve the agreed terms of existing bookings. Do not advertise a dynamic discount until the actual checkout shows and charges the intended price.

Pricing experiments and rule previews are planning tools until their intended collection and checkout path has been verified. See pricing A/B tests.
