AASI Adaptive Snowboard Level II extends adaptive instruction through intermediate riders, with Snowboard Level II required for the full certification.

What This Qualification Covers

  • The November 2024 standards describe teaching students with adaptive needs through the intermediate zone in the categories assessed. They separately describe the instructor's riding performance on intermediate through advanced terrain and small freestyle features.
  • The five named adaptive categories are cognitive, visual impairment, stand-up physical diagnoses, bi-ski and mono-ski. Assessment includes student assessment, equipment and tactics, diagnoses and medications, communication, movement analysis and teaching adaptations; confirm the categories actually completed.
  • This is the AASI snowboard strand. It is separate from PSIA Adaptive Alpine, from individual Adaptive Snowboard Specialist certificates and from trainer or examiner appointments.
  • The national award does not establish a professional licence, immigration permission or permission to operate independently in another country.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • Full Adaptive Snowboard Level II requires the underlying Snowboard Level II award. The standards separately describe an Adaptive Snowboard Specialist 2 route from Snowboard Level I or equivalent, all five Specialist 2 modules and Snowboard Level II technical-skill outcomes; an individual named specialist certificate is not the complete adaptive certification.
  • Check the delivering region's current entry, experience and assessment requirements. The standards assess people, teaching and technical skills together with professionalism; passing a preparation course or one assessment component is not the full certification. Current membership and continuing education are required to maintain certified status.

Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
