What This Qualification Covers
- The professional profile includes safe lesson planning and delivery, adapting teaching to guests, professional communication, responsibility and tourism development. Verify the snowsport actually assessed; the generic federal record does not identify every discipline or specialist elective.
- Swiss Snowsports' 2026/27 provisions give the protected titles professeur de sport de neige avec brevet fédéral and Schneesportlehrer mit eidgenössischem Fachausweis. A preparation-course record or Level 3 result does not establish the federal examination outcome.
- The federal certificate can be completed without the Backcountry Specialist elective. Swiss Snowsports identifies that additional elective for the risk-authorisation route for examinations completed from 2026, with different transition treatment for earlier graduates. The actual permit remains separate.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- The current route requires the preceding technical and teaching modules, legal and safety training, first aid, professional practice, tourism/environment modules and at least one elective. Check the complete federal-award evidence rather than an incomplete module transcript.
- The federal examination includes a submitted professional portfolio, presentation and professional interview, plus communication role-play, reflection and applied professional knowledge. Successful completion confers the protected professional title.
- The four discipline-specific Level 4 records describe routes ending in this federal examination. They must not be counted as proof of additional independent qualifications or automatically exchanged with historical Swiss catalogue labels.
Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.

The official course model, level pages, 2025 transition guidance and implementing provisions Edition 1.1, 2026/27 were read. The provisions give separate technical assessments for ski, snowboard, Nordic and Telemark. This guide describes the current pathway; historical certificates require their own transition assessment. Course training and a cantonal risk-activities authorisation remain separate.
