The resort boasts 13 ski runs, accommodating various proficiency levels:

  • 4 blue runs for intermediate skiers
  • 2 red runs for advanced enthusiasts
  • 2 black runs for experts

These slopes are serviced by eight ski lifts, ensuring smooth and efficient access to the diverse terrains. Additionally, Le Markstein features a dedicated slalom stadium, which hosts annual Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS) competitions, attracting ski professionals and spectators alike.

For cross-country skiing aficionados, the resort offers an extensive network of over 40 kilometers of tracked pistes. These trails provide breathtaking views over the Vosges valleys and the Alsace Plain, extending visibility to the Alps on clear days.

Le Markstein has a rich history of hosting prestigious events, including World Cup skiing competitions in 1983 and 1987, and the World Cup Paragliding in 1999. The resort also holds a significant place in cycling history, having been featured multiple times in the Tour de France, notably in 2014 and 2023.

The resort experiences a humid continental climate, with average annual temperatures around 6.0 °C (42.8 °F). December is typically the wettest month, contributing to reliable snowfall and excellent skiing conditions during the winter season. Summers are mild, with August being the warmest month, making Le Markstein a year-round destination for various outdoor activities.

Conveniently located along the Route des Crêtes, Le Markstein is easily accessible from major cities such as Guebwiller.
