1. Our Role

Find a Ski School is a directory and booking software platform that connects students with ski schools and instructors. We are not a ski school, instructor, or tour operator. We provide the technology that enables ski schools to accept bookings directly from students.

When you make a booking through our platform, you are entering into a direct contract with the ski school, not with Find a Ski School. We act solely as a technology provider facilitating the connection between you and the school.

2. How Bookings Work

Our booking process is designed to be transparent and straightforward:

  • Search and discover ski schools at your chosen resort through our directory, AI School Finder, or AI Concierge chatbot.
  • Select your lesson type, date, time, and any preferences directly on the school's profile.
  • Consent: Confirm that you agree to the school's terms, our privacy policy, and consent to sharing your contact details with the school.
  • Complete payment securely through Stripe, which processes the payment directly to the ski school's own Stripe account.
  • Receive confirmation from the ski school with your booking details.

2.1 Booking via Embedded Widget

Some ski schools embed our booking widget on their own websites. Bookings made through the embedded widget follow the same process, terms, and policies as bookings made directly on findaskischool.com. The school's own website may have additional terms; please review those separately.

2.2 AI-Recommended Bookings

If you discover a school through our AI School Finder or AI Concierge, the same booking terms apply. AI recommendations are suggestions based on your stated preferences and do not constitute professional advice or an endorsement. You should independently verify the suitability of any school before booking.

3. Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe, a globally trusted payment processor. Key points about how payments work:

  • Direct to school: Your payment goes directly to the ski school's Stripe account. Find a Ski School does not hold, capture, or manage your funds at any point.
  • Platform fee: A platform commission (1%โ€“5% depending on the school's subscription tier) is charged to the ski school (not to you) for using our booking software. This fee is automatically deducted by Stripe before the school receives payment.
  • No hidden fees: The price you see on the booking page is the price you pay. There are no additional charges from Find a Ski School.
  • Secure processing: All payment data is handled by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified.

3.1 Payment Methods

Available payment methods depend on the school's subscription tier:

  • Online Payment (All tiers): Credit/debit card payment processed securely through Stripe at the time of booking.
  • Offline Payment (Growth and Pro tiers): Some schools accept cash or bank transfer payments. These are arranged directly with the school after booking.
  • Deposit Payment (Growth and Pro tiers): Some schools may require a deposit at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due before or at the lesson.
  • Pay Later (Pro tier only): Selected schools offer a "Pay Later" option where payment is collected closer to the lesson date.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

Since bookings are made directly with the ski school, cancellation and refund policies are set by each individual school. We recommend:

  • Review the school's cancellation policy before completing your booking. This information is displayed on the school's profile page.
  • Contact the ski school directly if you need to cancel or modify your booking. Their contact details are provided in your booking confirmation.
  • Request refunds from the school: Since payments go directly to the school, any refunds must be processed by the school through their Stripe account.

Find a Ski School is not able to process refunds on behalf of ski schools, as we do not hold or have access to your payment funds.

5. Booking Confirmation

After a successful booking, you will receive a confirmation that includes:

  • Booking reference number
  • Lesson details (type, date, time, meeting point)
  • Ski school contact information
  • Payment receipt from Stripe
  • Email confirmation sent to the email address provided during booking

You can view and manage your bookings at any time from the My Bookings page in your account.

6. Weather and Force Majeure

Ski lessons may be affected by weather conditions, resort closures, avalanche risk, or other circumstances beyond anyone's control. Our platform displays current weather and snow conditions for resorts (sourced from Visual Crossing), but this information is provided for reference only and may not be fully accurate. In such cases:

  • The ski school will typically offer to reschedule your lesson or provide a refund according to their own policy.
  • Find a Ski School is not responsible for lessons affected by weather or force majeure events.
  • We recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers activity cancellations.

7. Disputes

If you have a dispute regarding the quality or delivery of a lesson:

  • Contact the ski school first to attempt to resolve the issue directly.
  • If you are unable to resolve the issue directly with the school, please contact us and we will do our best to facilitate communication between you and the school.
  • As a last resort, you may initiate a dispute through Stripe's payment protection system.

8. Group Lessons and Waitlists

Some schools offer group lessons with limited capacity. If a group lesson is full:

  • You may join a waitlist and will be notified if a spot becomes available.
  • Waitlist positions are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • You are not charged until you confirm and complete a booking.

9. Privacy and Consent During Booking

During the booking process, you will be asked to provide explicit consent for:

  • The processing of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • The sharing of your contact details (name, email, phone number) with the ski school to facilitate the booking and lesson delivery
  • Acknowledgement that the booking contract is between you and the ski school, not Find a Ski School

You cannot complete a booking without providing this consent. Your data will be processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Booking Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
