NZSIA's entry-level ski qualification, aimed at teaching domestically with a focus on beginners. Candidates are assessed on teaching both adults and children from first-time skier through to advanced snowplough turns.

For instructors progressing within the snowsports industry. Level Two holders are certified to teach students from wedge-parallel turns through to advanced parallel turns, and NZSIA describes the award as the level most comparable with Level Two certifications elsewhere in the world.

NZSIA's full ski certification, for instructors teaching in all-mountain situations. Level Three instructors are certified to teach all levels up to advanced and expert skiers, and can apply for the ISIA Stamp.

A separate training qualification, open to instructors already fully certified at Ski Level Three. It runs as a four-day workshop with a three-day assessment covering technical knowledge, clinic leading, analysis skills, teach-to-teach, trainer-level demonstrations and personal skiing.

SBINZ's entry-level qualification, aimed at teaching domestically and focused on beginners.

More focused towards instructors working internationally. SBINZ describes it as equivalent to many Level Two certifications around the world.

SBINZ's full certification, known for high standards in both riding and teaching. Level Three holders can apply for the ISIA Stamp.

Aimed at fully certified working instructors at Snowboard Level Three or equivalent who want to train staff at their resort, or candidates sitting Level One and Level Two. It runs as a five-day workshop with a three-day exam.

A SBINZ specialist certification covering teaching and engaging with children on a snowboard.

A SBINZ specialist certification for instructors teaching in the terrain park and pipe.

A four-day course for those beginning to instruct telemark skiing. It covers teaching techniques and progressions from first-time telemarker up to linking smooth turns, communication styles, skier analysis and telemark demonstrations, and certifies the holder to teach up to linked beginner turns.

The second award published in NZSIA's Telemark and Cross Country division, building on the Level One certification.

For instructors who already hold a Ski or Snowboard Level One certification. It gives the skills needed to teach people with a disability on the learners' slope. Four volunteer sessions are required — two supporting people with cognitive disabilities and two supporting people with physical disabilities or vision impairment — before the certificate is awarded.

For instructors who hold a Ski or Snowboard Level Two certification and have adaptive teaching experience.

A two-day certification that equips instructors with tools to teach and engage with children on skis, aimed at beginner level through to advanced wedge turns.

A two-day certification for instructors teaching natural and man-made park features, covering an online component, safety, group handling and etiquette. NZSIA Ski Level One (or a foreign equivalent) is required first.

Open to Level Three instructors who complete NZSIA's additional requirements: a second discipline at Level One (or a foreign equivalent), an approved avalanche awareness course, a first aid course, Freeski Level One or Race One, and the History and Culture e-learning module. Once achieved, ongoing training update days are required to maintain the status.

The top international competence level recognised by ISIA. NZSIA's ability to issue the Card as well as the Stamp places it among the leading snowsports instruction nations.
