How do I change my account email address?

Change your own sign-in email in Account security, verify the new address, and complete the existing account security check.

Quick answer

Sign in and open /account/security. Under Account email address, enter the new address and select Send verification code. Enter its code, choose Verify and change email, and complete the security check. Then sign in again.

How do I change my account email address?

Sign in to the account you want to update and open Account security. This page serves learner, parent, instructor and school accounts. It changes your own sign-in email; a school contact address or public profile field is a separate setting.

  1. Find Account email address and check the current address shown.
  2. Enter the New email address and select Send verification code. You need access to the new inbox and the existing security method requested by FASS.
  3. Enter the six-digit code in Code sent to… on the website. The new-address code expires after five minutes.
  4. Select Verify and change email. Complete the additional security check using the existing authenticator app or account-email method offered in the dialog.
  5. Wait for the website's success confirmation. A successful change signs out all devices and trusted browsers and returns you to sign in. Use your new address to sign in again.

Your account continues to use the current address until both checks pass. Requesting a code or opening the settings page does not change it. You enter codes and approve the change yourself; the assistant can show the page and instructions but cannot complete these security checks.

The code did not arrive or has expired

Check the new address and its inbox and spam folder. Use Resend code for a fresh code, respecting any limit or message shown. Use Cancel if you need to correct the address or stop the request. Do not keep retrying an address the website rejects, and do not create another account to work around a conflict.

If you cannot complete the existing account security check, follow the sign-in and two-factor help or contact support. The assistant cannot disable security requirements or change an address for somebody else.

Still need help?

Use Account Support if you can sign in, or the public Contact form if you cannot. Describe which check failed and its error wording. Never include passwords, verification or recovery codes, reset links, or sign-in tokens. If you already have a support request, continue that request with the attempted steps rather than submitting a duplicate.
