How do I use dark mode, units and accessibility features?

Theme switching

Tap the sun or moon icon in the top nav to choose between three themes:

• Light — default light theme
• Dark — darker background, lighter text. Easier on the eyes in low light.
• Auto — follows your system preference. If your device is set to dark mode at night, the platform switches too.

Your choice is remembered on your device. If you're signed in, it syncs across every device you use.

Metric or imperial units

A units toggle lets you switch between metric (kilometres, metres, km/h, °C) and imperial (miles, feet, mph, °F). The toggle affects:

• Resort altitudes and slope lengths
• GPS session stats (distance, vertical, speed)
• Weather forecasts and snow depth
• Gear recommendations (where height and weight apply)

Find the toggle in the top nav or on any page showing these units. Your choice is saved to your account if you're signed in.

Keyboard shortcuts

The platform supports keyboard shortcuts across most pages. Press ? any time to open the full list, or Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) to open the command palette — a quick way to jump to any page or action without reaching for the mouse.

In the student dashboard specifically:

• 1–9 jumps between dashboard tabs
• Cmd+K / Ctrl+K opens the command palette

Accessibility widget

An accessibility panel lets you adjust things that make the platform easier to read and use:

• Larger font sizes
• Higher contrast
• Reduced motion for animations
• Readable fonts (for dyslexia)

Find it in the bottom-right corner on every page. Your settings are saved and persist across visits.

Screen reader support

The platform is built with semantic HTML and proper ARIA labels throughout. Skip-nav links let screen reader users jump past the main navigation on each page. If you find somewhere that doesn't work well with your screen reader, please let us know — we fix accessibility issues as a priority.
