Quick answer

Open Availability → Requests → Shift Swap Board, choose an upcoming assigned lesson, and post a cover request. A colleague claims it and the school approves the checked reassignment.

How do I swap shifts with other instructors?

Use the Shift Swap Board under Availability → Requests when you need a colleague to cover an upcoming assigned lesson.

Request cover

  1. Check the selected profile’s main school and open Post a Shift.
  2. Select an eligible upcoming lesson assigned to you.
  3. Add an optional reason and post the request.

The date and time come from the linked booking. You cannot post the same lesson twice while it has an open or pending cover request. For a booking linked to a group class, ask the school to arrange cover for the whole class instead.

Claim and approval

Other eligible instructors at that school can claim the open request. The first successful claim moves it to Pending approval. Claiming alone does not reassign the lesson or prove that the colleague is suitable and free.

The school reviews the claim in its Shift Swap Marketplace. Approval applies the booking reassignment through the platform's current planning checks. A changed lesson, missing membership, conflict, or approved licence that does not cover the whole lesson can prevent approval. The school should refresh, check the proposed instructor’s eligibility through the lesson end time, and resolve the issue; a pending renewal does not extend the previous approval.

Until approval succeeds, keep treating the lesson as your responsibility. Confirm the final assignment in My bookings with the school. If cover is urgent or nobody claims, contact the school directly; posting a request is not a cancellation.
