Austrian Diplom-Skilehrer / Staatlicher Skilehrer

The Austrian diploma/state ski-instructor award, recorded separately from Landesskilehrer. Tyrol's published guidance lists Diplomschilehrer for Alpine ski instruction and defines limited temporary teaching exceptions in other disciplines.

What This Qualification Covers

  • Tyrol's applicant guidance lists Diplomschilehrer as qualified Alpine-teaching staff at a ski school. The diploma title is distinct from an authorisation to operate the school.
  • That guidance permits a Diplomschilehrer to teach snowboarding temporarily when a Diplomsnowboardlehrer or Snowboardlehrer is unavailable. It also describes temporary cross-country teaching when a Diplomlanglauflehrer or Langlauflehrer is unavailable. These are conditional staffing exceptions, not additional snowboard or cross-country diplomas.
  • Tyrol's published guidance reserves leading and accompanying ski tours to separately qualified Schiführer, Snowboardführer or mountain-and-ski guides. This teaching award alone does not establish that guiding qualification.
  • Check the actual province, issuing body and exact qualification on the certificate. Tyrol's rules must not be assumed to apply throughout Austria.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • Tyrol lists Diplomschilehrer as a distinct examination before its relevant provincial examination commission, separate from the Landesschilehrer, Schiführer and business examinations. Check the actual diploma and issuing authority rather than relying on a translated state-qualified label.
  • For recognition of training from another province or country in Tyrol, the district authority asks for the qualification, training and examination content, and evidence of professional practice. That recognition process is separate from obtaining the diploma and does not establish recognition elsewhere.

Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
