Austrian Landesskilehrer

An Austrian regional ski-instructor qualification. Tyrol's published applicant guidance lists Landesschilehrer among the qualified staff who may teach Alpine skiing at a ski school, separately from the piste-limited Anwärter grade.

What This Qualification Covers

  • Tyrol's guidance lists Landesschilehrer and Diplomschilehrer as Alpine-teaching grades. It applies the explicit piste-only restriction to Schilehreranwärter; this difference must not be expanded into unrestricted off-piste or touring permission.
  • Tyrol's published guidance reserves leading and accompanying ski tours to separately qualified Schiführer, Snowboardführer or mountain-and-ski guides. This teaching award alone does not establish that guiding qualification.
  • Check the actual province, issuing body and exact qualification on the certificate. Tyrol's rules must not be assumed to apply throughout Austria.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • Landesschilehrer is its own examination in Tyrol's list. The Tiroler Schilehrerverband provides preparation and the relevant provincial examination commission conducts the examination; verify the complete certificate rather than a course-attendance record.
  • Diplomschilehrer and Schiführer are separately named examinations. The Landes title does not demonstrate completion of either one, and operating a ski school involves a separate authorisation question.

Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
