What This Qualification Covers

  • The separate Level 2 criteria assess confidence on larger park features, judgement of approach speed, rotations and grabs, rail skills, and controlled switch carving. These are technical assessment requirements, not unrestricted permission to coach every feature, competition level, or terrain setting.
  • Coaching assessment extends to analysing tricks and movement, selecting progressions, understanding park features and equipment, setting goals, and applying performance feedback. It also introduces judging criteria, competition formats, physical preparation, and basic training nutrition.
  • The official pathway names a freestyle ski coaching award that supplements existing instructor qualifications. Confirm the holder's actual ski and coaching awards and the conditions for the intended session; do not infer a snowboard award or general mountain-guiding authorisation from the shared coaching criteria.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • IASI describes Level 2 as the second step in its freestyle coaching pathway and lists a licensed course provider. Confirm current prerequisites, delivery format, and completion requirements with IASI or its licensed provider before booking.
  • The linked document separates Level 2 technical and coaching assessments from its foundation criteria. A Level 1 award or participation in training is distinct from completion of the Level 2 certification.
  • This coaching module does not by itself establish the full IASI Alpine Level 3 or Level 4 instructor qualification, an ISIA credential, or country-specific permission to work. Those records require their own evidence.

Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
