Telemark skiing · New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance
What This Qualification Covers
- The stated teaching outcome is linked beginner telemark turns. Training covers progression design, communication, skier analysis and demonstrations, alongside substantial personal skiing development.
- Candidates are assessed on intermediate-terrain telemarking, but that personal skiing assessment should not replace the specified beginner teaching range.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- The four-day course requires associate or full membership and linked telemark turns in a sound stance on green terrain. Candidates may use NZSIA's e-learning guidance or submit a readiness video.
- The course assesses teaching methodology, learner-progression demonstrations and personal telemarking. Telemark Level 2 develops intermediate lessons; a separate ISIA designation has additional requirements.
