Telemark skiing · New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance
What This Qualification Covers
- The course focuses on intermediate telemark teaching and personal skill development, introducing high-performance turns, bumps, off-piste skills and the use of terrain and conditions in lessons.
- The introductory off-piste content describes training, rather than unrestricted mountain-guiding permission.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- The five-day course requires associate or full NZSIA membership and Telemark Level 1 or an accepted international equivalent.
- Assessment is ongoing, with a final-day teaching exam using real students. Level 3 is the separate progression towards all-mountain telemark instruction.
