What This Qualification Covers
- The 2026/27 provisions define beginner teaching, suitable communication and safe equipment and lesson choices. The candidate also demonstrates more advanced movement forms; that personal technical requirement must not be expanded into an expert teaching scope.
- The Telemark assessment includes a progression between turning mechanisms, linked waltzes and controlled descent on a varied piste. This is the Telemark route, not an Alpine qualification with an assumed conversion.
- This is the discipline-specific Level 1 route. A children's specialism or a qualification in another snowsport must be supported by its own training record.
- A course level does not issue a cantonal risk-activities permit. Check the actual activity, terrain, completed safety training and applicable authorisation separately; foreign recognition and the right to work also require their own checks.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- Level 1 is completed through the discipline-specific module, including sporting skills, practical teaching and knowledge/comprehension assessment.
- Progression to Level 2 adds Teaching and Technique modules, first aid and assessment. The current provisions set admission conditions separately; completing this first module does not establish the later award.
- The revised names apply from the 2025/26 transition. Retain the original identity of an older certificate and ask Swiss Snowsports which modules remain outstanding.
Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.

The official course model, level pages, 2025 transition guidance and implementing provisions Edition 1.1, 2026/27 were read. The provisions give separate technical assessments for ski, snowboard, Nordic and Telemark. This guide describes the current pathway; historical certificates require their own transition assessment. Course training and a cantonal risk-activities authorisation remain separate.
