What This Qualification Covers

  • The official teaching focus is students with disabilities through an intermediate level, developing a deeper understanding of disability and adapting progressions across adaptive disciplines.
  • Training and assessment include equipment set-up, supporting helpers, disability-specific issues, etiquette, disability awareness and mountain safety.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • The six-day course requires associate or full membership, Ski or Snowboard Level 2 and Adaptive Level 1, or accepted foreign equivalents.
  • Assessment is continuous, with a written disability-awareness paper and a final practical exam. The practical includes explaining equipment and support needs and teaching an assigned scenario.
