What is Find a Ski School's role in the booking?

Find a Ski School is a directory and booking software platform. We connect you with independent ski schools and instructors. The booking is an agreement between you and the school — we're not a party to it.

Quick answer

Find a Ski School is a directory and booking platform. Your lesson contract is with the provider. For online payments, FASS creates the Stripe charge and executes approved refunds; Stripe Connect transfers the provider's share.

What is Find a Ski School's role in the booking?

Find a Ski School is a directory and booking software platform. We help you find ski schools and instructors worldwide, compare them, and book them directly. The ski school or instructor is the business you're buying lessons from — they're the one you have the contract with, they own the service, and they're accountable for it.

What we do

  • Run the directory — maintain a searchable list of ski schools, instructors and resorts around the world
  • Provide booking software — the booking widget, payment flow, and calendar integration that schools and instructors use to accept bookings
  • Enforce platform status — require the current provider verification status where the booking gate applies, and label school status, instructor application status and school affiliation separately
  • Surface policies — display each school's cancellation terms, prices, and contact details clearly on their profile

What we don't do

  • We don't provide lessons. The school or instructor you book with is the one teaching you. They set the curriculum, they decide what's safe, they run the lesson.
  • We don't employ instructors. Instructors on the platform work for independent ski schools or teach independently — we don't have any of them on our payroll.
  • We don't operate a wallet or escrow service. For online payments, Find a Ski School creates the Stripe charge and Stripe Connect transfers the provider's share after our stated commission. See how payments are handled [blocked].
  • We don't set cancellation or refund terms. Each provider sets and applies its own policy. We surface the terms and handle the cancellation and payment mechanics.
  • We execute approved online refunds. The provider decides the request under its policy. Once approved in the platform, the FASS backend creates the Stripe refund to the original payment method and reverses the provider transfer where applicable.

Why this matters

The distinction is legal and commercial. Because bookings are a direct agreement between you and the school:

  • Your contract is with the school, not with Find a Ski School. Their terms apply.
  • For booking-specific issues — dates, sizing, lesson content, refunds, disputes — speak to the school directly. Their contact details are on their profile.
  • For platform issues — login problems, account settings, search bugs — contact Find a Ski School support.

This model is explicit on every booking-facilitation page: Find a Ski School is a directory. Bookings are agreements between you and the ski school or instructor. Find a Ski School is not a party to the booking.

What you get from this setup

  • No booking fees for skiers and learners, ever — we don't add markup to lesson prices
  • Payment transparency — you see the provider's price and policy; the Stripe charge and automatic provider transfer are explained before payment
  • Scoped verification signals — read the label beside a badge; it records only the named platform status and does not by itself confirm every credential or document

If you want the full legal language, it's on the Booking Policy page [blocked] and in our Terms of Service [blocked].
