How do I invite an instructor who teaches at another school?

Use 'Invite from another school' in Instructor Management to bring an existing FASS instructor onto your team. They'll get a notification, accept, and start appearing on your school's listing — keeping their existing profile at their primary school. You can upload a custom photo for them in your school's uniform without affecting how they look elsewhere.

Quick answer

Instructor Management → 'Invite from another school' → enter their email + role. They'll see a banner in their dashboard and accept. Once active, you can upload a custom photo of them in your school's uniform — only visible on your listing.

How do I invite an instructor who teaches at another school?

Many instructors split their time between schools — they might teach for one school in the Alps in winter and another at a UK dryslope in summer, or simply work freelance across two or three schools at the same resort. Find a Ski School supports this directly: an instructor can be affiliated with as many schools as want them, with each school controlling their own listing, uniform, and reviews.

This article covers the school owner’s side: how to invite an existing FASS instructor to also teach at your school.

When to use this vs the regular "Invite Instructor"

There are two invite buttons in Instructor Management:

  • Invite Instructor — for someone who isn’t on Find a Ski School yet, or someone you’ve already added as a row on your team but who hasn’t claimed their account. They get an email with a magic link to set up their profile from scratch.
  • Invite from another school — for someone who already has an instructor profile at a different ski school on FASS. Brings them onto your team without creating a new profile or duplicating their data.

If in doubt, search Instructor Management first. If you can’t find them on FASS at all, use Invite Instructor. If you can find their public profile under a different school, use Invite from another school.

How to invite

  1. Go to your dashboard → Team → Instructors.
  2. Click Invite from another school (next to the regular "Invite Instructor" button).
  3. Enter the instructor’s email address — the one they use to sign in to FASS.
  4. Pick a working arrangement:
    • Part-time (default) — they teach here and elsewhere.
    • Freelance — independent contractor, hired per booking.
    • Guest — temporary or seasonal arrangement.
    • Permanent — they work full-time at your school. Rare for a multi-school invite — usually their primary school owns this.
  5. Optional: add a short message ("hey, would love to have you for the Easter holidays").
  6. Click Send invitation.

The instructor will see a banner at the top of their dashboard the next time they sign in, with Accept and Decline buttons.

What happens after they accept

  • Your school appears on their public profile under "Also teaches at".
  • They appear on your school’s public listing (the Instructors section on /schools/your-slug).
  • They show up in your team management list with the role you picked.
  • You can now upload a custom photo of them in your school’s uniform (see below).

Uploading a custom photo for your school

Each school owns the photo of their instructors on their own listing — independently of how that instructor looks at any other school they teach at. Useful when:

  • Your school has a uniform and you want all instructors photographed in it.
  • The instructor’s default profile photo is too casual / too action-shot for your brand.
  • You’ve done a professional team photo session and want those photos on your listing.

To upload one:

  1. Open Instructor Management, expand the instructor’s row.
  2. Find the Photo on this school’s listing section.
  3. Click Upload photo, pick the file (max 5MB; JPEG/PNG/WebP/GIF).
  4. The thumbnail switches to full opacity to confirm the override is active.

To revert to the instructor’s default photo, click Use default.

The instructor can also upload their own per-school photo from their dashboard — last save wins between you and them, so coordinate if you both want to manage it.

Re-inviting after a decline

If the instructor declines, the invitation is closed but you can re-invite the same email any time. They’ll see the new invitation through their instructor workspace. You don’t need to change any settings — just click Invite from another school again with the same email.

Removing an affiliated instructor

In Instructor Management, expand their row and click Remove from team. This:

  • Sets the affiliation to "ended" — they stop appearing on your school’s listing.
  • Doesn’t affect their primary school or their public profile.
  • Doesn’t delete past bookings, reviews, or history with your school.

The instructor can also leave your school themselves from their My Schools tab.

Common questions

Can I invite an instructor who already has a profile at MY school? Not via this flow — they’re already affiliated with you as their primary school. Use the regular instructor management features.

Will the instructor’s reviews from other schools show on my listing? No. Reviews are scoped to the school where the lesson was booked. Reviews you accumulate at your school stay on your school’s listing.

Does adding an affiliated instructor count toward my plan’s instructor limit? Yes — every active instructor on your school counts the same, whether they’re permanent staff or part-time affiliates.

What if the email isn’t recognised? The instructor needs to be registered on FASS first. If they don’t have a profile yet, ask them to register at /register-instructor, then re-invite once they’re live.
