Adaptive snowsport · British Association of Snowsport Instructors
What This Qualification Covers
- The on-mountain course includes bi-ski and mono-ski development, stand-up outriggers, sensory impairments, and other physical or cognitive needs, alongside equipment choices, adaptive analysis, and lesson planning.
- The current award overview places Level 2 learner development under a snowsports school or club's responsibility. Check the actual assessed components and the learner's equipment and needs rather than treating the level number as a substitute for relevant adaptive competence.
- This is an adaptive ski qualification. It does not establish Adaptive Snowboard certification or a general off-piste guiding qualification.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- The course permits entry with BASI Adaptive Ski Level 1 or BASI Ski Level 2 or above. Admission through an Alpine qualification does not itself confer the adaptive award: the adaptive course and assessment remain necessary.
- BASI recommends additional Alpine preparation for candidates who hold Adaptive Level 1 without a Ski qualification. Confirm current entry and completion requirements; a recommendation, eligibility decision, and completed award are different records.
- Adaptive Ski Level 3 has separate advanced teaching and technical assessment. Check the complete professional qualification and any issued ISIA credential separately from this Level 2 award.
Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
