BASI Ski Race Coaching Certification

A supplementary BASI coaching certification for assisting ski-race training within the remit of an existing instructor qualification, with work on competition preparation, athlete development, and performance analysis.

What This Qualification Covers

  • The named certification concerns assisting competition training within the holder's underlying instructor qualification. It does not replace that qualification or create an unrestricted race-coaching or trainer appointment.
  • BASI's ski coaching course includes an Alpine racing focus, course setting for race or training objectives, athlete training programmes, analysis, and competition preparation. FIS-aligned course content is not evidence of a separate FIS licence or authorisation.
  • The common coaching programme also develops understanding of governing bodies, physical preparation, nutrition, and psychology. The actual discipline, learners, and terrain must remain within the instructor's established remit.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • The published entry requirement is a recognised snowsports instructor qualification, together with the competence and fitness to descend a black run carrying equipment. That candidate performance requirement is not the learner-teaching scope.
  • The course includes training and assessment. Check the resulting Ski Race coaching certification, rather than inferring completion from attendance, a different freestyle certificate, or a bare Coach label.

Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
