What This Qualification Covers
- The dedicated course develops teaching through parallel skiing, performance analysis, communication, lesson structure, and adapting to learner needs in a mountain or centre-based environment.
- BASI's award overview describes helping more advanced learners at non-mountain facilities or on appropriate mountain terrain. The UK title should not be interpreted as a blanket ban on mountain teaching, or as proof of permission in every destination.
- This optional teaching award is not the separate full Ski Level 2 qualification with its own technical and teaching assessment. Check the precise certificate when applying qualification or country rules.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- The course requires BASI Ski Level 1. BASI says this UK award is optional: Level 1 holders may instead progress directly to the full Ski Level 2 route.
- BASI publishes a separate conversion route through its Ski Level 2 re-assessment course for UK Level 2 holders. A UK award alone does not establish that the conversion was completed; confirm the required assessment and resulting qualification with BASI.
Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
