CSIA Alpine Level 4

CSIA's highest numbered ski certification assesses expert skiing and teaching, developing instructors who can apply expert-level skills and teaching strategies across demanding situations.

What This Qualification Covers

  • The complete certification brings together the Level 4 skiing and teaching outcomes. A single development component or assessment result is not the complete award.
  • A Level 4 certificate does not itself establish a CSIA Course Conductor or examiner appointment. Those roles must be checked separately.
  • This Alpine certification does not establish unrestricted off-piste guiding or automatic permission to teach in another country. Terrain and professional-recognition requirements depend on the intended activity and destination.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

Training and Progression

  • Complete Level 3 certification and the separate Trainer designation are required for entering the Level 4 pathway.
  • The published programme has four-day Skier Development and four-day Teacher Development courses, followed by three exam days. Training covers expert terrain and speeds, demonstrations, and expert teaching in peer situations.
  • An instructor qualification, an actually issued ISIA credential and a destination's professional authorisation are separate matters; do not infer the latter two from the Level 4 title.
