Snowboarding · British Association of Snowsport Instructors
What This Qualification Covers
- The current snowboard award description explicitly includes Central Theme activities under the responsibility of a snowsports school. It permits artificial facilities and a mountain environment where the terrain is suitable for the learner's ability.
- Course assessment develops both riding and teaching. Entry demonstrations include short turns, switch riding, carving, and basic freestyle movements; those personal riding requirements are not a claim that a new instructor may teach every assessed movement to any learner.
- This is a snowboard award. It does not establish Alpine ski, adaptive snowboard, or independent teaching qualifications, and local professional and work requirements still need to be checked.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- The course combines on-snow training and assessment with mandatory preparatory online modules. The published entry requirements include minimum age and established riding competence; check the current specification before booking.
- The full Snowboard Level 2 course and optional Snowboard UK Level 2 teaching award are separate next steps. Record the actual award completed rather than treating either Level 2 title as interchangeable.
Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
