BASI Snowboard Level 2

BASI's second snowboard instructor qualification combines on-mountain riding and teaching development. Its course describes Central Theme teaching through basic turning within a patrolled area.

Snowboarding · British Association of Snowsport Instructors

What This Qualification Covers

  • The specific course outcome is teaching the Central Theme up to and including basic turning, with lesson planning, communication, group management, and safety within a patrolled area.
  • BASI's qualification overview places Level 2 teaching under a snowsports school or club's responsibility. Broader riding and terrain work in training should not be treated as unrestricted off-piste or independent teaching permission.
  • The award is the full Snowboard Level 2 qualification, distinct from Snowboard UK Level 2. Alpine Ski Level 2's parallel-skiing outcome is not a snowboard teaching standard.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • Entry requires BASI Snowboard Level 1. The on-mountain course combines technical riding and teaching assessment with off-snow theory and workshops.
  • BASI offers re-assessment arrangements for individual failed teaching or technical elements. Keep a partial result separate from the full qualification and confirm current re-assessment conditions directly with BASI.
  • Snowboard Level 3 has separate advanced teaching and technical courses and supporting qualification requirements. Level 2 alone is not the completed Level 3 ISIA award.
