Snowboarding · Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors
What This Qualification Covers
- The published focus includes expert snowboarders across terrain and the further development of experienced instructors.
- Teaching, Riding and Instructor Training are separate components of the qualification. A completed component should not be presented as the complete Level 4 award.
- Across-terrain riding and teaching competence does not establish unrestricted backcountry guiding, access to every terrain feature or an evaluator appointment. Check local terrain rules, the instructor's training and their appointed role.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- Entry requires current CASI Level 3, fluency in the course language and comfort on all terrain. Each Teaching, Riding and Instructor Training module lasts three days; the exams are one day for Teaching, two days for Riding and one day for Instructor Training.
- The numbered award remains separate from any issued international credential, professional recognition in another country, and immigration or employment permission.
Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
