What This Qualification Covers

  • The stated range includes medium and large jumps inside and outside the terrain park, plus intermediate and advanced rails and boxes. Training develops technical knowledge, analysis and personal freeski skills.
  • The exam assesses skiing manoeuvres and an advanced freeski lesson delivered in the park. Feature access and operating decisions remain subject to the resort and instructor's actual competence.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • Entry requires associate or full membership, NZSIA Ski Level 2 and Freeski Level 1, or accepted foreign equivalents.
  • Candidates attend a two-day workshop before a two-day exam. The workshop remains valid for later seasons, although NZSIA encourages further preparation when several years have elapsed.
