SBINZ Snowboard Level 3

SBINZ Snowboard Level 3 prepares experienced instructors for advanced all-mountain and freeride lessons, together with intermediate freestyle teaching.

Snowboarding · Snowboard Instructors of New Zealand — NZSIA Snowboard Division

What This Qualification Covers

  • The official teaching focus is advanced all-mountain and freeride riding plus intermediate freestyle. Assessment includes advanced freeriding, carving, freestyle, versatility, rider analysis and lesson delivery; a riding task alone is not a separate teaching or guiding authorisation.
  • The separate Snowboard Trainer Certification is not implied by Level 3. An instructor award does not by itself establish a trainer or examiner appointment.
  • Level 3 holders may be eligible to apply for the ISIA Stamp; that eligibility is separate from evidence that a current stamp has been issued.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • Full certification requires five components: three-day Ride and Teach Workshops, two-day Ride and Teach assessment modules, and the Snowboard Children's Teaching Certification or approved equivalent. The matching workshop must precede each assessment module; the children's certificate can be completed at any stage before the award is issued.
  • Entry requires current associate or full membership, SBINZ Level 2 or an approved foreign equivalent, and Level 3 e-learning before either workshop. The dedicated course page permits the pathway to span seasons and retains passed assessment components without a time limit.

Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
