SBINZ Terrain Park Certification

SBINZ's specialist terrain-park certificate develops freestyle snowboard teaching beyond the park elements of its main instructor levels.

Snowboarding · Snowboard Instructors of New Zealand — NZSIA Snowboard Division

What This Qualification Covers

  • The certificate emphasises park safety, etiquette, rider analysis and corrective and developmental teaching. Riding assessment includes small and medium jumps, grabs and spins, boxes and basic rails.
  • The course page gives specific assessed feature and manoeuvre ranges. These should be read alongside the instructor's actual competence and resort rules rather than treated as unrestricted feature access.

FASS country rules

These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.

No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.

Training and Progression

  • The route has a two-day workshop and two-day exam. Workshop entry requires associate or full membership, Snowboard Level 1 or an accepted foreign equivalent, and Terrain Park e-learning; Level 2 e-learning is recommended.
  • Exam entry additionally requires completion of the workshop and Snowboard Level 2 or an accepted foreign equivalent. Workshop attendance alone is not the completed certification.

Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
