Alpine skiing · Professional Ski Instructors of America and American Association of Snowboard Instructors
What This Qualification Covers
- PSIA-AASI describes the CS 1 range as children in the beginner/novice through intermediate zones, on terrain typically marked green or blue.
- The assessment-based certificate develops people, teaching and technical skills for children's lessons. This guide covers the ski strand of the shared PSIA-AASI programme; confirm the instructor's underlying discipline and certificate rather than assuming snowboard certification.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- The October 2022 national standards require current PSIA-AASI Level I or equivalent, the CS 1 workbook or e-learning pre-course requirement, and skiing or riding at the current certification level. Check additional regional event requirements.
- Children's Specialist 2 develops teaching through the advanced zone and expert terrain. The specialist number is separate from an instructor's main Alpine or Snowboard certification level.
Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
