Alpine skiing · Professional Ski Instructors of America and American Association of Snowboard Instructors
What This Qualification Covers
- PSIA-AASI describes the CS 2 range as teaching children through the advanced zone and on expert terrain, typically marked black.
- This assessment-based certificate addresses people, teaching and technical skills for children's lessons. This guide covers the ski strand of the shared PSIA-AASI programme; it does not by itself establish an underlying Alpine Level II or III award or a snowboard credential.
FASS country rules
These are the active qualification conditions configured on FASS. They do not confirm that a person has met them or has permission to teach. Local professional and immigration requirements still apply.
No active FASS rule is recorded for these qualifications. This does not establish permission to teach or lack of recognition.
Training and Progression
- The October 2022 national standards require current PSIA-AASI Level II or equivalent, the CS 2 workbook or e-learning pre-course requirement, and skiing or riding at the current certification level. Completing preparation is separate from passing the assessment-based certificate.
- Keep this specialist certificate alongside the instructor's main discipline qualification. Neither the CS 2 number nor the terrain description establishes an examiner or trainer appointment.
Check the awarding body's current syllabus for entry requirements, course dates, fees, and assessment rules.
