About Skiing in Bolivia

Bolivia was once home to the world's highest ski resort, Chacaltaya, located in the Cordillera Real mountain range. The resort, which opened in the 1930s, has since closed due to the complete disappearance of its 18,000-year-old glacier, which melted away by 2009. While organized skiing is no longer possible, the area remains a popular destination for mountaineering and acclimatization.
