Naeba

Naeba is home to Japan's longest gondola, the Dragondola (5.5km), which links it to Kagura resort. Kagura is renowned as one of Japan's snowiest resorts with one of the longest seasons. Naeba is also famous as the venue for the Fuji Rock Festival. It's easily accessible, just 75 minutes from Tokyo via Shinkansen.

Travel to Echigo-Yuzawa Station by Shinkansen (bullet train), a journey of approximately 75 minutes from Tokyo. From Echigo-Yuzawa Station, a 20-minute bus ride will take you directly to Naeba.

Naeba offers long, groomed runs primarily on its main face, suitable for intermediate skiers. The 5.5km Dragondola provides a scenic 20-minute journey with sweeping views over the snow-covered Niigata mountains, connecting Naeba to the extensive terrain of Kagura resort. This connection significantly expands the available skiing area.

The Snow Park area at the base of Naeba is ideal for beginners. It features gentle runs and dedicated learning zones, providing a safe and comfortable environment for those new to skiing or snowboarding.

Advanced skiers will find challenging terrain at Kagura, accessible via the Dragondola. This area boasts steeper, higher-altitude slopes, excellent off-piste opportunities within the trees, and backcountry gates that provide access to serious expert terrain.

Kagura resort, connected to Naeba by the Dragondola, is notable for having one of the longest ski seasons in Japan, typically remaining open until late May.
