Nakiska

Nakiska is a historic ski resort, famously the alpine venue for the 1988 Winter Olympics. Located just an hour from Calgary, it offers quality skiing at a significantly lower price point than the nearby Banff resorts, with no national park pass required. Its setting in Kananaskis Country provides a beautiful, wild atmosphere, free from the crowds often found elsewhere. Nakiska is estimated to be 30–40% cheaper than Banff resorts.

Nakiska is conveniently located just one hour's drive from Calgary.

Intermediate skiers will find their stride on terrain accessed by the Gold Chair. This area offers 735m of vertical drop. The resort also boasts the Olympic downhill course, which is groomed into a demanding red run for those seeking a challenge.

Beginners are well catered for at Nakiska with gentle, wide runs in the Olympic Meadows area. This provides an ideal environment for learning and building confidence.

Advanced skiers can test their skills on the upper mountain, particularly on the Olympic course terrain. These runs are characterised by their steep gradients and exposed sections, offering a thrilling challenge.

Nakiska is part of the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies (RCR) group. Lift passes are interchangeable with other RCR resorts such as Fernie, Kimberley, and Stoneham.
