Northstar California is Tahoe's family-luxury mountain, known for its immaculate grooming and wide, perfectly groomed runs through the pines. The resort boasts a charming village with an outdoor ice rink and s'mores fire pits, complemented by Ritz-Carlton residences.

The terrain at Northstar California is characterised by wide, meticulously groomed pistes that wind through picturesque pine forests. Intermediate skiers will find an abundance of wide, perfectly groomed cruisers. The Comstock Express and Arrow Express lifts are particularly popular, offering consistently excellent intermediate terrain.

Beginners at Northstar have a dedicated learning area conveniently located at the village base. A gondola also provides easy access to mid-mountain green runs, allowing new skiers to enjoy higher slopes without navigating the busier base area.

For advanced skiers, Lookout Mountain and the Backside areas offer steeper terrain. While these runs provide a good challenge, Northstar's most difficult slopes are generally considered less extreme than those found at nearby resorts such as Palisades Tahoe or Kirkwood.

The Village at Northstar offers charming evening activities, including an outdoor ice rink and s'mores fire pits, creating a cosy atmosphere. For a broader range of dinner options and a more local vibe, the town of Truckee is just a 10-minute drive away and offers more character than the resort village.

Northstar California is included on the Epic Pass, allowing skiers to explore multiple resorts on a single pass. This provides excellent opportunities to combine your trip with visits to other renowned Tahoe resorts like Heavenly and Kirkwood.
