Jasná Nízke Tatry – Chopok

Jasná Nízke Tatry – Chopok is often hailed as Central Europe's best-kept secret. It offers 50km of ski terrain spread across both sides of Chopok peak, boasting modern lifts and a history as a World Cup venue. The resort is notably more affordable, with prices estimated to be 60% cheaper than comparable resorts in the Alps.

Poprad Airport (TAT) is conveniently located approximately one hour away by transfer. It offers seasonal flights, including direct connections from London.

The resort offers excellent groomed red runs on the north side of the mountain, providing a substantial 900m vertical drop for intermediate skiers. Skiing both the north and south sides of Chopok peak delivers a wide variety of terrain.

Beginners will find the Lúčky beginner zone on the south side of the mountain particularly suitable. This area is known for its gentle slopes and tends to be uncrowded.

Advanced skiers can challenge themselves on the steep, exposed alpine terrain found around the Chopok summit. Additionally, the Otupné freeride zone provides gate-controlled off-piste opportunities for those seeking more extreme conditions.

For a unique rest-day excursion, consider visiting the Demänovská Ice Cave and Freedom Cave, both located approximately 30 minutes from the resort. These offer spectacular underground experiences.
