William Bankes

William Bankes arrived in the Hautes-Alpes at the age of 7 and has lived in the Southern Alps for over 25 years. A state-qualified D.E Alpine Ski instructor affiliated with ESI (International Ski School), William is a former member of the French national snowboard team, having competed on the World Cup circuit. He has been a ski instructor for over 10 years and created Serre Chevalier Ski School to share his extensive experience. William teaches skiing, snowboarding, splitboarding, ski touring and freeride to all ages and abilities — from first-timers to advanced off-piste enthusiasts. He operates in the Serre Chevalier valley (Villeneuve, Monêtier-les-Bains) and also offers multi-day ski touring and splitboard excursions with overnight stays in mountain refuges. As a certified Anena avalanche safety trainer, he provides avalanche safety courses and equipment guidance.
