About

Meet William

William Bankes is a state‑qualified D.E Alpine Ski instructor based in the Hautes‑Alpes and affiliated with ESI (International Ski School). He has lived in the Southern Alps for over 25 years and is a former member of the French national snowboard team, having competed on the World Cup circuit.

With more than 10 years of teaching experience, William founded Serre Chevalier Ski School to share his passion for the mountains. He is bilingual in English and French and teaches all ages and ability levels, from complete beginners to expert riders, welcoming students from 3 to 99 years old.

William specialises in private lessons, skiing, snowboarding, splitboarding, ski touring, and freeride. He offers half‑day and full‑day sessions, both on‑piste and off‑piste, across the Serre Chevalier ski area.
