Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain is uniquely divided by ability, ensuring skiers never accidentally find themselves on terrain beyond their capabilities. Beginners are on the east, experts on the west, and intermediates in the centre. This clean separation is a standout feature among Colorado resorts.

Being on the Ikon Pass also means Copper often sees fewer crowds compared to neighbouring resorts like Breckenridge or Vail on the Epic Pass.

Copper Mountain is renowned for its naturally divided terrain, which segregates skiers by ability. The centre of the mountain caters specifically to intermediates, offering an abundance of long blue groomers. Key lifts serving this core zone include the American Flyer and Super Bee chairs.

The Union Creek area, located on the east side of Copper Mountain, is a self-contained zone designed specifically for beginners. It features gentle terrain and dedicated lifts, with no crossover traffic from more advanced skiers. It is considered one of Colorado's best-designed beginner areas.

Advanced skiers at Copper Mountain will find challenging terrain on the west side of the resort. This includes Resolution Bowl and Spaulding Bowl, which offer genuine alpine experiences with steep chutes and open bowls. Additionally, the Tucker Mountain snowcat provides access to further hike-to expert terrain on weekends.

Woodward Copper is an indoor facility offering extensive freestyle training options. It features trampolines and foam pits, providing a safe environment for skiers and snowboarders to practise and develop their freestyle skills.
